Serving meals, clothing, and dignity to our unhoused neighbors in Albuquerque's International District — and support to refugees at the southern border.

Francis House Catholic Worker was incorporated in April 2019 and embraces a mission
to serve the unhoused in our neighborhood and refugees arriving at our southern border.
We became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on May 22, 2025 (EIN 83-4674414). We have roughly 130
volunteers and no paid staff.
From our five-room facility in the International District of Albuquerque, we
distribute meals to hungry neighbors five days a week:
At tables set up in sun or shade, guests enjoy homemade burritos, coffee, juice, and
water for breakfast; on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we ladle out hot homemade soups
(“holy posole” on Sundays), fruit, sandwiches, and cookies — all made by our generous
volunteers. We also provide clothing, blankets, hygiene items, over-the-counter
medications, and the use of a restroom.
Through our second ministry, we support asylum seekers and refugees — currently
assisting the Casa Óscar Romero Shelter in Ciudad Juárez, which houses refugees
from six countries who can neither return home nor cross the border to seek asylum.
